Summer fun on Lago di Dobbiaco
Starting Point: Lago di Dobbiaco and then? Our campsite is located in the heart of the Dolomites, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site, but also in a central position from which many sights can be reached in just 45 minutes. On the water, in the mountains, on a bicycle, in nature? The important thing is to live the adventure and enjoy your holiday to the full.
Rock the boat:
Towards new shores
Sit back and relax, enjoy the warm rays of the sun and let yourself be lulled gently by the waters of the lake - or if you're feeling more competitive you can race against others in a pedalo. There is a place only 50 m away where you can hire boats and pedalos. Private boats are not allowed on Lago di Dobbiaco.
Cool down:
Only for the hardiest
Swimming in the lake is permitted, but you might like to think twice. Before getting ready to run and dive head-first into the lake, you should consider the fact that the maximum water temperature is 16 °C ...
More pleasant, instead, are the waters of the natural swimming pond of Dobbiaco or in the Kur Park in Villabassa, where there are some beautiful Kneipp pools.
Vitamin D =
All the power of the sun in the Dolomites
It is easy to lose track of time on the pebbly beach just 200 m away ...
Walk around:
Fancy a stroll?
An interactive educational trail with viewing platforms, among other things, leads to 11 stations around Lago di Dobbiaco.
The Mountains are calling:
Happy times high in the mountains
Lace up your mountain boots, put on your backpack, and keep your camera at the ready - and walk right up into the mountains from the campsite in Dobbiaco: to Mount Serla (2,380 m), Malga Vallettina (2,163 m) and Malga Putzalm (1,743 m).
Do you want to learn more?
Just a short bus ride away are also other natural wonders, including the classic ones: the Tre Cime (Three Peaks), a UNESCO world natural heritage site, or even Mount Piano (2,205 m), the open-air museum of the Great War.
Another destination is Prato Piazza (1,993 m), the sunny plateau of the Braies Dolomites, with scenic views from the crosses on Mount Specie (2,307 m) and Picco di Vallandro (2,839 m).
Do you feel the call of the mountains even higher up? Then the Corno Fana di Dobbiaco (2,663 m) is for you!
Climb it:
For rock climbing enthusiasts
Within a radius of 1 km are various rock climbing walls which you can reach by bike or bus. The best outdoor climbing can be found here: Mount Piano, Tre Cime (Three Peaks), Mount Paterno, Mount Cristallo and Tofana.
In case of bad weather, the Nordic Arena indoor climbing wall in Dobbiaco is just a 10-minute walk away.
Ride a Bike
For MTB enthusiasts
Of course you can bring your MTB with you, but you can also rent one: the nearest bike and E-bike rental is in Dobbiaco (near the train station).
And then? Where to first? If you have difficulty deciding and need some time to get going, why not go on one of our guided MTB tours: through the Val di Landro to Cimabanche, Sesto-Rifugio Fondovalle, Rifugio Gigante Baranci, and up to Rifugio Tre Scarperi in Val Campo di Dentro, Malga San Silvestro and Rifugio Lachwiesen, Val Casies, Lake Braies, Prato Piazza, Mount Elmo, Prati di Croda Rossa, Alpe Nemes and Malga Klammbach and Malga di Tesido ...
